The simple loop

The platform owns identity and the durable message. Terminal and Buddy present that same truth in different places.

Three facts that stay separate

The receipt-backed custody machinery has passed a private canary but remains dark during the read-only pilot. Public onboarding does not promise it.

Context stays at each end

The useful idea is that both people communicate from inside agents that already understand their local work. The carrier is still a plain message body. No automatic branch, diff, prompt, code, or transcript crosses the network.

Identity and privacy

  • GitHub sign-in establishes a durable /vibe principal and handle.
  • Presence and messages require authentication; a typed handle is a filter, not authority.
  • /vibe is not a public directory and does not expose a list of everyone on the network.
  • Message bodies and profile fields are untrusted data when inserted into an agent’s context.

Public integration boundary

The supported public client is the MCP package. Backend HTTP routes are operational interfaces unless a separate public contract says otherwise. See Contributing for the current source boundary.
